My family and I live on acreage with Dexter cattle and a small menagerie of other creatures. We also regularly process our own home-grown beef for personal consumption. A large quantity of beef fat is usually a by-product. My belief is that if an animal gives up it’s life, then we owe it to that animal to respectfully use all of it.
I did some research and started making tallow soap for personal use. I gave some soap to family members and friends, with overwhelmingly positive feedback. Some of these friends also do on-farm butchering, and offered me access to by-product beef fat, that would usually be burnt or buried. This seemed like an enormous waste of resources, and I wanted to be able to turn this ‘waste’ into something positive.
I also have goats and am able to use fresh milk from my own goats in the lavender and goat's Milk Soaps. Below is Bethany, one of my milking goats.

All packaging, labelling and extra inputs like the coconut and essential oils are sourced through Australian companies. I strongly believe that this is worthwhile and spreads around the benefits to other Australians, even though the overall cost can be a little higher than out-sourcing from overseas.
With an outstanding and unique product and a fair bit of elbow grease (but not in the soap), Terri's Traditional Tallow Soap was born.
